Knoxville native Kaurie Kincaid accomplished something on the golf course she’d never done before, and in turn, helped the Central College women’s golf team finish the first day of the season-opening tournament in second place.

Kincaid carded her first-ever hole-in-one on her third hole of the day at the Lake Creek Country Club in Storm Lake, sinking the shot on the 155-yard par-3 with a 4-iron. She finished the round with a score of 90.

Teammate Sarah Paulson holds the individual lead, after firing a 76 in the opening round. Another local high school product, Kelsey Van Tasell of Pella, shot a 90 in her collegiate debut for the Dutch.

The Central College women’s golf team shot a combined 344 – 10 shots back of first place Wartburg. Seven Iowa Conference Teams are competing at the tournament, which concludes today.
