A Marion County businessman will be running for the Iowa House of Representatives next fall. Greg Heartsill is running for the Republican nomination in the newly formed 28th House District in Iowa. Heartsill grew up in Salem, Iowa, graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1989. He worked as an IT professional in Des Moines for 12 years at Allied Group and Principal Financial. In 2004, he started Heartsill Fencing, which is located southwest of Columbia. Heartsill says he wants to promote economic growth and fiscal responsibility with less taxation and less regulation and preserve property rights.
