A pair of impressive victories over Grinnell and Pella High has earned the Pella Christian volleyball team the week off. Truthfully, the Lady Eagles didn’t have anyone one the schedule this week anyway, but the quality of their play as of late seems to make the week off look like a reward.

Helping Pella Christian reach a greater degree of success has been the continued evolution of the team’s offense, which head coach Cindy Nikkel admitted was becoming a bit predictable. She says strong performances by middle hitters Lynelle De Bruin and Jasmin Schelhaas have taken some of the attention off of the team’s powerful outside hitters.

Setters Sarah Faber and Lauren Jungling have also gotten in on the offensive attack, which Nikkel says continues to make her team difficult to keep up with.

The Pella Christian volleyball team is currently 14-2 overall and is off until Saturday.
