The Iowa Department of Education is looking into a new anti-bullying policy they wish to institute state-wide in 2013. The move comes after reporting data on bullying showed fewer than 2% of Iowa students reported being bullied compared to a national average of around 30%. Pella High School Assistant Principal John Muller says they don’t see a big problem with bullying locally. He says many of the cases can be resolved before administrators make a formal report, which adds to the discrepancy in those state numbers.
