Pella Christian goes for its second win of the District schedule – and third overall – tonight, when they host Clarinda. The Eagles stymied the Cardinals last year, allowing just 26 yards of total offense and no scores in a 49-0 rout in Clarinda, but both teams have changed greatly since then. Pella Christian is still incorporating a number of new pieces on both sides of the ball, while Clarinda returns the majority of their team from last season.

Eagles’ head football coach Rich Kacmarynski says one of their main objectives is to prevent the Cardinals from effectively running the football.

“We talked about that all week – we’ve got to keep our contain and not let their speed [get out] on the edge,” says Kacmarynski. “I think our defense is ready for this type of challenge. We’ve played well, defensively, for three weeks in a row, and we’re looking for a fourth one tonight.”

You can hear the game streamed live at kniakrls.com with Jamie Brockman and Nate Van Wyk there for the call. The game will also be featured on a delayed broadcast at around 10:30 p.m. on 92.1 fm KRLS. Coverage will begin at 6:30 p.m., with kickoff at 7:00 p.m. tonight.
