The Pella Christian football team is looking forward to being back on their own field-turf, after opening the season last Friday with a 29-17 loss at Des Moines Christian. The Eagles host Van Meter tonight in their home-opener.

Pella Christian head football coach Rich Kacmarynski says the Bulldogs are a well-coached program, but he likes the way his team matches up.

“We know that they’re going to come in here with a good game plan. They [Van Meter] have some athletes; they’ve got a nice quarterback and some skill guys that can run, so we need to contain them,” says Kacmarynski. “We think we have some things going for us tonight – particularly our size and our strength – so hopefully we can win the battle at the line of scrimmage and that will be the difference.”

Coverage of tonight’s Pella Christian football game will be streamed live on kniakrls.com and featured on a delayed broadcast on 92.1 fm KRLS. You can hear Eric Gotschall and Nate Van Wyk providing the call, starting at 7:00 p.m. Kickoff is set for 7:30.
