Pella Christian Football Takes on Van Meter in Home Opener

The Pella Christian football team is looking forward to being back on their own field-turf, after opening the season last Friday with a 29-17 loss at Des Moines Christian. The Eagles host Van Meter tonight in their home-opener.

Pella Christian head football coach Rich Kacmarynski says the Bulldogs are a well-coached program, but he likes the way his team matches up.

“We know that they’re going to come in here with a good game plan. They [Van Meter] have some athletes; they’ve got a nice quarterback and some skill guys that can run, so we need to contain them,” says Kacmarynski. “We think we have some things going for us tonight – particularly our size and our strength – so hopefully we can win the battle at the line of scrimmage and that will be the difference.”

Coverage of tonight’s Pella Christian football game will be streamed live on kniakrls.com [1] and featured on a delayed broadcast on 92.1 fm KRLS. You can hear Eric Gotschall and Nate Van Wyk providing the call, starting at 7:00 p.m. Kickoff is set for 7:30.
