Another evening of near-perfect weather made for another good night for the Pella Christian cross country team. Competing at the Johnston Invitational last night, the Eagles competed against a large field of teams from schools of all sizes.

A tenth-place individual finish from Sarah Brandsen led the Pella Christian girls to a 5th place finish in the Varsity race, and sisters Alec and Leah Breon were close behind in 23rd and 26th place, respectively. The PC girls were just two points behind Southeast Warren for fourth place, while North Polk was well out in front for the team title.

The North Polk boys also claimed first place in the team standings, finishing with a shockingly low ten points. The Pella Christian boys claimed sixth place with 112 points, led by Jake Lensing – who finished 21st – and Ryen Van Vark – who came in 25th.

The Eagles will run again on Tuesday, when they compete at Oskaloosa.
