The wins keep piling up for the Pella Christian volleyball team. This time the Lady Eagles notched their first Little Hawkeye Conference victory of the season, sweeping Norwalk 3-0 Thursday night in Pella.

After topping the Warriors 25-16 in game one, the Lady Eagles nearly gave away the second game before coming back to win 27-25; then closed the match out with a 25-19 victory.

Head Coach Cindy Nikkel said it was nice to come away with the sweep, considering that the team’s timing was off at different moments throughout the night.

Pella Christian’s outside hitters paced the offense, with Shelby Nikkel leading the way with nine kills – many of which came at critical moments for the Lady Eagles. Jenna Horstman added seven kills while going 20-for-22 from the service line with a team-high nine aces.

Sarah Faber also added seven kills, along with 12 assists; with Lauren Jungling chipping in another 13 assists. Defensively, Jasmin Schelhaas led the way with 22 digs and a pair of blocks.

With the win over Norwalk, the Pella Christian volleyball team is now 7-1 overall and off for an entire week until they face Knoxville.
