Tuesday night was not the start to the Little Hawkeye Conference season that the Pella High volleyball team was hoping for, as they were swept 3-0 by Newton.  The Lady Dutch put up 15 points in each of the first two games, and fought their way to 21 points in the third and decisive game.

Kim Korver and Jillian Sager each went eight-for-eight from the service line, Katie Sunderman notched a team-high five kills, and Regan Nelson spread around six assists.  Defensively, Carrie Vande Haar’s two blocks led the Lady Dutch, while Taelor Rempe’s 12 digs was also a team best.

The Pella volleyball team is now 2-11 overall and 0-1 in the conference.  They’ll host Pella Christian at Central College on Thursday.

Scores:
Game 1: 15-25
Game 2: 15-25
Game 3: 21-25
