The National Weather Service reports that an upper level system will move through the area today bringing widespread showers and isolated non severe thunderstorms to the state. The rain will taper off from west to east by mid to late afternoon across western portions of the state and this evening across eastern Iowa. Skies will clear for Monday with a warming trend expected into Monday and Tuesday as highs nudge closer to the seasonal averages for this time of year.
