This week is Character Counts Week. Character Counts is a framework of what is called the six pillars and has been introduced throughout the country in schools and businesses. The six pillars of Character Counts are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Mary Van Zante of Pella Corporation says they introduced Character Counts there in 2002. She says the program is a way to guide the day-to-day interactions among employees in a way the reflects the company’s values.
