Several area couples were in Washington D.C. recently and met with Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley. Jordon and Josh Van Kooten of Leighton met with the Senator while on their honeymoon. From Pella were Velma and Stan Bogaard, Gayle and Stan Poortinga, Gloria and K.C. Valster and Diana and James DeBoer. They discussed a variety of issues with Grassley including term limits, ethanol subsidies and rural post office closings.
