Twin Cedars running back Jared Stephens will finish the season as the leading rushing in Eight-Man District Five. His 1,737 yards on the ground were almost 100 yards more than Tyler McDaniel of Moravia. Stephens also had the most touchdowns scored with 30 and had the most attempts of any running back in the district with 251. Another Marion County rusher from an eight-man team also made the list of top rushers in district five. Melcher-Dallas’ Trent Flescher ended up third in the district with 1,476 yards and 18 touchdowns which was also third in District Five. Compare Stephens’ and Flescher’s number to the rest of the state in Eight-Man and they rank in the top ten. Stephens is currently third and Flescher is tenth. The standings will fluctuate due to other teams still in the playoffs.
