A strong field of teams at the Class 2A District/Regional cross country meet in Ames prevented any of our area teams or runners from qualifying for the State Meet, though some strong individual performances still highlighted the final meet of the season.

In the girls’ meet, Pleasantville’s Delaney Jensen finished 24th and PCM’s Rachel Peter was 35th individually. Pella Christian’s Marina Shannon was right between the two in 33rd place, as the Lady Eagles took 9th place in the team standings, despite being without the services of the most experienced runner – Sarah Brandsen – who was out with illness.

In the boys’ race, PCM’s Matt Chizek placed 45th individually; while Jacob Lensing led the way for Pella Christian was a 48th-place finish. The Eagles finished in 12th place in the team standings. The meet was run on the Iowa State University course and was hosted by Gilbert.
