The Pella football team is looking forward to being on their home turf again this Friday night, as one of the heavy hitters in District 7 comes to the Tulip City. Keokuk is 5-1 on the season and coming off of a 41-0 beatdown of Centerville this past Friday night.
Little Dutch head coach Jay McKinstrey said he picked the Chiefs as one of the favorites to win the District this season, and says their high-powered offense will present a number of challenges for his team.
“They have a lot of guys back from last year. They’ve got a good quarterback in Gabe Vandenberg, and they’ve got a big 200-pound running back,” says McKinstrey.
“They spread the field all over the place on you, but can still run the football. They’ve got a very good offense, they’re very threatening, and they’ve got some big guys up front too.”
Pella is 5-1 overall as well and 4-0 in Class 3A District 7.
