While most football teams would prefer to have a lead large enough to play the J-V unit in the second half to get them valuable experience, it likely held much more importance for Melcher-Dallas on Friday when the Saints rolled up 52 of their 58 points in the first half of the game. Coach Ryan Conrad says the game got out of hand so early that he started playing his J-V guys in the second quarter after Melcher-Dallas scored 46 points in the first 12 minutes of the game. Conrad adds that helps because he was able to rest his starters for a quick turnaround game with Lenox in the first round of the Eight-Man playoffs this Wednesday.
