It’s National 4-H Week. Marion County Extension Office Youth Coordinator Mindy Kephart says that 4-H is about more than just what you see at the County and State Fair. She says 4-H teaches children leadership skills and helps builds relationships. Kephart adds that every year, 4-H high school students have the chance to attend the State 4-H Leadership conference to help build upon those skills. Anyone in grades 4-12 is eligible to join 4-H, and a special program called “Cloverbuds” is available for grades K-3. If you’re interested in 4-H, contact the Marion County Extension Office at 842-2014.
