Following a 49-17 win over Colfax-Mingo last week, the Pella Christian football team has returned to the practice field this week aiming to tighten up a few loose areas and get themselves into postseason form. With just two weeks left on the District schedule, Eagles’ head football coach Rich Kacmarynski says he saw two areas that his team needs to get better at.

“Two weeks in a row now, we’ve given up long passes on the edge – we’ve got to get that fixed. So I think we’ve got to work on our back end on the pass defense,” commented Kacmarynski.

“Offensively, we need to continue to work on our wide runs. I think we had a lot of success up the middle [last week], Caleb Morgan rushed for almost 200 yards, so we’re very solid inside. Nate Tvedt has had some success on the outside, and I think we’ll continue to work that a little bit more.”

The Pella Christian football team is 5-2 overall and 4-1 in Class 2A District 8 play – behind only PCM – with Shenandoah making the long trek to Pella on Friday night.
