PCM can accomplish their first undefeated season since the Prairie City and Monroe school districts joined by earning a win tonight at Bondurant-Farrar. Mustangs’ head coach Greg Bonnett says while he knew he inherited some skilled athletes for his first year piloting the program, he never would have expected to have this much success right away.

“As a rookie head coach, coming into this situation, I kind of lined some things up and studied some other teams, and in my mind I did not have us as a 9-0 team,” said Bonnett. “But once we started taking off and things started rolling, and the playmakers started to develop themselves, about halfway through the season I thought we’d have a really good shot of going 9-0.”

PCM has clinched the District championship and a top seed for the playoffs, but will have to take care of business against a physical Bluejays squad that is fighting for the No. 3 seed in the postseason. You can hear coverage of tonight’s game streamed live from Bondurant with David Hecht and Mark Amadeo calling all of the action on kniakrls.com, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
