The Knoxville, Pella High and Pella Christian volleyball teams all got in one more weekend tournament this past Saturday, with the Lady Eagles coming out on top at the Knoxville Invitational.

Pella Christian was a perfect 5-0 on the day, earning 2-0 sweeps of Pella, ADM, Atlantic, ADM again and capping off the tournament championship with a win over Grinnell.

Knoxville went 3-2 on the day, defeating Albia before falling to Grinnell and Iowa Falls – all in straight sets – then defeating Atlantic and Pella to close out the day.

Aside from their consolation final loss to Knoxville, the Lady Dutch beat Atlantic and Albia, but lost to ADM to finish the day at 2-2.

The tournament was the final regular season competition for Pella Christian, who improved to 25-4 overall and begins the Class 2A Regional Volleyball Tournament tomorrow at home against PCM.

Knoxville is now 15-19 and will again face Pella tomorrow night in the final match of the season. The Lady Dutch are 10-23 overall.

Tomorrow night’s match in Knoxville will be “Pack the Gym” and “Senior Night” for the Panthers.
