With two impressive wins over a pair of the better teams in the District, the Pella High football team has entered this week determined to not stumble in the final week of the season and close out the schedule with a perfect record in Class 3A District 7.

The Little Dutch host Fort Madison on Friday night, and head coach Jay McKinstrey it means a lot for his team to go unbeaten in the league.

“You want to finish 7-0. You want to go down undefeated and be the undisputed District champion – you don’t want to have the same number of losses as anyone else,” said McKinstrey. “So I think that’s going to be really important to this football team. We’re going to go get it, and we need to finish it now. We’re at home too, so we’re excited about that.”

The Bloodhounds are 2-6 overall and 1-5 in the District, while Pella High locked up the District title last week and is 7-1 overall and 6-0 in District play.
