The Pleasantville Trojans came away with their first big win of the season Friday night and it couldn’t have come at a better time as Pleasantville has also celebrated their homecoming with a 28-7 triumph over Wayne.

The Trojans seemed prepared to win right from the first snap. The first play was an interception from Matt Prill as he ran 34 yards to land inside the 3 yard line which then allowed a Trey Busick touchdown to make it 7-0.

The Trojans also proved that they had the ability to move the ball as Pleasantville was backed into their own 20 yard line and moved the ball 80 yards down field with 7 first downs and Trey Busick having 3 of those which then lead to a Matt Prill touchdown.

Jake Burgett made a comeback onto the roster Friday night as he was effective on defense just as he was offense as he made an interception which allowed the Trojans deep inside Falcon territory. Jake made a few key first down throws to Hunter Van Haalen to then lead to a Kendall Clarke touchdown inside the Falcon 5 yard line to put the Trojans up 21-7 in the 3rd Quarter.

The Pleasantville Trojans took care of the Wayne Falcon passing game as they only allowed the quarterback to make 3 passes and throwing 2 interceptions and stopped two key passes that made a turnover on downs. Overall Coach Koerselmen thought that eliminating the pass and be ready every play on defense was key to winning the game.

The Pleasantville Trojans take their winning streak to West Central Valley in Stuart next Friday Night and you can catch the delayed broadcast of Friday night’s game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. on AM 1320 KNIA.
