With an unbeaten record in tow, the PCM football team enters tonight’s Class 2A Playoffs with high expectations for the postseason. It won’t be an easy road, though, as the Mustangs are paired up with a very strong field from Class 2A District 8, beginning with Collins-Maxwell-Baxter tonight.

Mustangs’ head coach Greg Bonnett says he expects the Raiders to be a wide-open, athletic team.

“I know Coach [Rob] Luther, and I know his style of offense. It’s going to be gun or spread, five-wide [receivers] sometimes or one [running] back a lot of times,” says Bonnett.

“They’ve got a good team, I know they do. I’ve watched them on film a little bit and I think their quarterback is a heck of a player. I think they can make plays. We’re just going to have to go out there, play for six seconds a pop, and see where it lines up.”

CMB is 6-3 entering the playoffs. Tonight’s game will be streamed live at kniakrls.com with David Hecht and Mark Amadeo providing the call. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight. The game will also be featured in a delayed broadcast this Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. on 92.1 fm KRLS.
