Pleasantville Native Chelsea Thomas is the proud owner of a Pan Am Games gold medal as Team U-S-A blasted Canada 11-1 Sunday night in the softball final. Throughout the tournament, Thomas was 2-0 with 17 strikeouts. This ends Thomas’ international competition for now as she will return to the University of Missouri and prepare for her junior season with the Tigers softball squad. Unfortunately, Thomas will not get to compete in the Olympics in 2012 since softball was dropped as an Olympic sport after the 2008 games.
