On November 1st, several years of planning will come to fruition with the transfer of the City of Pella’s interest in the Walter Scott Power Plant in Council Bluffs. The City owns just over one percent of the generating capacity at the plant, and recently elected to sell it at a profit about $9 million. Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini says this sale, along with construction of the new Southeast Switching Station and several other electric utility investments are part of the long-term vision for the City’s power needs.
