Saturday’s Central College football game at Simpson has the Dutch trying to claim second place in the Iowa Conference, but don’t try and explain that to head coach Jeff McMartin. McMartin says while an Iowa Conference title is out of the realm of possibility, he and his team still want to win this game just as badly.

McMartin says most importantly, the goal each week is always to win, regardless of the opponent, but he also wants to see this team finish 7-3 instead of 6-4; claim a victory for the 29 seniors who will play their last game for Central, and beat a long-time rival on their home field.

The Dutch enter the game with a 6-3 overall record, while Simpson is a bit of a surprise at 5-2 in the Iowa Conference, after dropping their first two games. You can hear play-by-play of the game live on 92.1 fm KRLS with Eric Gotschall live in Indianola. Coverage starts at 12:45 from Buxton Stadium and will also be streamed live at kniakrls.com
