Pella Christian senior volleyball player Jenna Horstman has been selected to participate in the Iowa Girls Coaches Association Senior All-Star Match later this month.

“We get nominated by our coaches, and then we are selected by the surrounding coaches,” says Horstman. “I found out about three weeks ago, and I was excited.”

The outside hitter for the Lady Eagles was third in the Little Hawkeye Conference in kills with 277, converting on a league-best 40.7 percent of her attacks. Horstman also posted 62 service aces, trailing only teammate Lauren Jungling in the conference.

“There’s four different teams that will play against each other during the Friday/Saturday weekend,” says Horstman. “We’ll practice twice with each other on our teams, and then we’ll play on Saturday night against the other three teams.”

The teams are comprised of senior athletes from all classes across the state. The matches will take place next weekend in Carroll.
