With the lack of a go to girl this season…Knoxville Girls basketball Coach Jim Utiermarkt is going to a far different offense than in past seasons. In the past, he has had one or more players that could create their own shots and never really had to run set plays. Now with no player that at this point capable of creating on their own, he has gone to a flex style offense. He says it will take fans by surprise at first, but this is the best way to get every player involved. He adds the best case scenario is five or six girls average six to seven points per game. He says if one girl can step up and start to average in double figures…then all the better. Utiermarkt says patience is one thing that the girls need with the new style of play.
