For the first time since the early 80s, the Knoxville Turkey Shoot will not take place this year. The annual night of basketball after Thanksgiving at Knoxville High School was canceled this season because not enough teams were able to fill out the entire jamboree. According to Athletic Director Randy Wilson, many of the teams dropped out of the Turkey Shoot because of travel and the games were just not competitive. He hopes to have the Turkey Shoot next season with teams from the region. In the meantime, the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad will travel to a jamboree in Montezuma on Friday November 25th. The Panthers will play two quarters of basketball against Montezuma.
