A trip to the Class 2A State Tournament last season and the return of several key components this season has the Pella Christian girls basketball team ranked in the top ten of the first poll of the season.

The Lady Eagles debut at No. 7 in the first Class 2A rankings, recently released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Pella Christian was 20-5 last season, and opens the season tomorrow night at PCM.

Also worth noting: In Class 1A, nearby North Mahaska opens the season as the No. 1-ranked team in the state, with local rival Lynnville-Sully filling the No. 10 slot.
