Central Football Team Well-Represented in All-Star Game in Mexico

Six Central College football players will suit up today for Team Stars and Stripes in the third annual Tazon de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars) today.

The team is comprised of Division III players from throught the country, and includes Dutch strong safety Ryan Schmidt as one of the team’s co-captains. Schmidt is joined in Mexico by fellow defensive players Brady Hill and Jake Peterson, along with Jeremy Snead, Preston West and Casey Tanner – who play on the offensive side of the ball.

The Central athletics program is also represented by co-defensive coordinator Don De Waard, John Roslien and Frank Neu. The members of the Dutch football team will try and help Team Stars and Stripes win for the second straight year against all-stars from Mexico’s national conference of private schools.

Game time is 1:30 p.m. at the 5,000-seat El Tempo del Dolor in Puebla.
