A three-pointer midway through the first half ignited a 26-10 scoring run for the Central men’s team, as the Dutch turned a 17-poing halftime lead into a 65-44 win last night in Pella.
Central’s defense frustrated the Kohawks, limiting them to just a 30 percent field goal percentage; and the Dutch owned a 44-26 rebounding advantage – both of which played a big role in the win.
Nine players scored points for Central, led by 13 points and 7 rebounds from Chris Lehman. Nick Marinkovich came off the bench to knock down three straight 3-pointers and finish with 11 points.
The Central men are off to a strong 6-1 overall record and a 3-0 mark in league play. They’ll hit the road to Minneapolis on Saturday to face Augsburg.
