Though they held a 10-rebound advantage and committed a season-low 12 turnovers, the Central College women’s basketball team could not maintain an early lead as Clark University defeated the Dutch 59-54 in the second – and final – game for Central at the Land of Magic Classic.

The Dutch led by as many as 11 points in the first half, but the Cougars tied the game at 24-24 before the half, and led 35-32 at intermission.  From there, Clark took advantage of 26 fouls committed by the Dutch, hitting 29 total free throws in the game, including 18 in the second half.

The Central College women’s basketball team returns from Florida with a 4-7 overall record, and will resume Iowa Conference play on Wednesday at Wartburg.
