From a fan standpoint, it can be hard to find any flaws in the way the Pleasantville boys basketball team has started the season; but from a coaches’ perspective, there’s always room for improvement.

“I think we need to get better defensively, I really do. People may think I’m crazy, but I think we take a few possessions off during a game,” said Trojans’ head coach Tom Wilkins.

“I think we need to be more patient. We settle for shots a lot. I thought against I-35 we settled for shots. We’ve got to be patient. We’re not always going to put sixty-five, seventy points on the board. I told the guys I’d be happy with a 5-4 victory, as long as it’s a victory.”

The Pleasantville boys are 8-0 overall, with an important Pride of Iowa Conference game against Nodaway Valley up on Tuesday.
