[simage=6682,200,y,left] Wayne County Supervisor Amy Sinclair became the first person to declare her candidacy for the Iowa Senate’s 14th District last week. Sinclair, a Republican, is from Allerton. She’s lived in Wayne County for more than 17 years. Sinclair says that education will be a top priority. She says she’ll advocate for strong local control of schools and improved teacher, student, and parent accountability. During her time on the Wayne County Board of Supervisors, she’s served as the finance and facilities chair. She also represented Iowa’s farming interests by lobbying in Washington, D.C. in 2010.
