Last weekend was the Shotgun Deer Hunting Season opener. Several people already been injured or killed in Iowa in hunting related accidents. DNR Conservation Officer Ken Kenyon tells KNIA/KRLS News that gun safety is important, but being prepared for the climate and possible changes in temperature is something to keep in mind as well. He also tells us that you should take care to not overexert yourself when out in the wilderness, and to take your time. Additionally you should make sure someone knows where you are, in case you can’t call for help. The second Shotgun season starts on Saturday.
