For those fans that have been to wrestling meets this season…the weight classes have changed a bit. Gone is the heavyweight class, and the lightest weight class is now 106 pounds instead of the traditional 103. Knoxville Coach Ron Peterson says the guys are adjusting to the new weight class requirements…but his team may be hampered just because there are no kids for the upper weights right now. Peterson says in individual tournaments like the one the Panthers were in at Newton last Saturday will benefit them since he has several kids to choose from in the lower and middle weights.
