The selection of a Pella Police Chief is still pending. Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini told KNIA/KRLS News that while they had hoped to be ready to select a chief this week, background checks and other procedural processes have taken longer then expected. Nardini also told KNIA/KRLS that the three remaining candidates have been here in person for interviews, and the selection should happen soon. The three finalists are Interim Pella Police Chief David Beukleman, Robert Bokinski from Ocean City Maryland, and Jeff Jirak from Muscatine.
