The Pella Christian girls basketball team has a chance to close out their pre-holiday schedule with five straight wins, as the Lady Eagles host Martensdale-St. Mary’s tonight. It’ll be a tough non-conference test for Pella Christian, even though the Blue Devils lost several key contributors from the team that won a Class 1A State title a season ago.

“They have a lot of tradition there. They won it [the State Championship] last year, so they have a lot of pride in what they do,” said Pella Christian girls head coach Kevin Van Maanen. “They’re going to bring a good quality basketball team to our gym, and we’re looking forward to that challenge.”

The Pella Christian girls are 4-1 overall, while Martensdale-St. Mary’s is 3-5. Game time is set for around 7:30 p.m. tonight at Pella Christian High School.
