Thursday evening, Iowa College Aid presented a College aid night, online. The event featured several live video speakers, and digital booths to seek help on college financial aid planning. Heather Doe with the Iowa State Aid Commission told KNIA/KRLS News that the event is meant to be similar to the financial aid nights that many high schools run, but also offering a more anonymous way to ask questions of the financial advisers. An admissions councilor at Central College, Steffanie Tomlinson said that online resources such as events like this can be helpful, and a great staring point, but that parents who want a more face to face approach can often get help from the school that their student is applying to. The online event runs from 4:00-8:00 tonight, and if it goes well will be made an annual event.
