A tightly contested game through the first three quarters was claimed down the stretch by the Pella Christian boys Saturday afternoon, as the Eagles downed Albia 61-55 in Pella.

The Eagles trailed by one point at halftime, and were tied with the Blue Demons through three quarters, but relied upon a balanced offensive attack in the final period to claim the win.  Dan Hessing led Pella Christian with 15 points, and Austin Vermeer put up 14.

The Eagles open Little Hawkeye Conference play on Tuesday at Knoxville.
