The Iowa Caucuses are just two weeks away, and Republican presidential hopefuls are hitting the state hard ahead of the primaries. Rick Santorum will be in Pella Tuesday at Monarchs Restaurant. Santorum is a former Pennsylvania Senator and will answer questions from the public from 9:00 until 10:00 AM. Friday Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann will be in Pella for an invite only event at the Christian Opportunity Center. She will tour the Vocational Plant and participate in a short Q and A session in the Conference Center at 2:00 PM. On December 28th at 3:30 PM Texas Governor Rick Perry will be in Pella at the Smoky Row Coffee Shop. The caucuses are January 3rd at 7:00 PM.

For those north of the river in Marion county, the Republican caucus will be held at Pella Christan High School and for those south of the river, the Republican Caucus will be at Knoxville High School. The doors will open at 6:00 with the actual process set to start at 7:00.

There are two locations in the county that will be holding Democrat caucuses. People that live in townships and precincts south of the river will convene at Knoxville Middle School. Those living in townships and precincts north of the river will convene at Lincoln Elementary School in Pella. The Democrat Caucuses will start at 7:00.
