One of the great stories of the local sports scene has been the start of the 2011-2012 season for the Pleasantville boys basketball team.  With an unbeaten record at the holiday break, head coach Tom Wilkins says he’s certainly happy with how his team has played so far, but says they’ll need to put in some hard in the coming weeks if they hope to continue to keep winning games.

“We are 8-0.  That’s fantastic; it’s wonderful, but we’ve got a lot of work to do.  I told the guys, right now I think we’re a good team.  What we’ve got to do is take that next step to be a great team,” said Wilkins.  “We’re just going to take it one game at a time, but it’s going to be nice to have a little break here – sit back and relax – and then get back after it hard after Christmas break.”

The Trojans are 6-0 in the Pride of Iowa Conference, and continue league play next Friday against a tough conference opponent – unbeaten Nodaway Valley.
