Twin Cedars enjoyed a successful varsity basketball showing at home against Diagonal last night, as the Sabers swept a pair of games against the Maroons.

The Twin Cedars girls notched a 60-34 thumping in the opener, as Brittney Roby led the Sabers with 15 points. Teammates Ayla Crosby and Alee Hugen scored 14 and 10 points, respectively, as part of a balanced offensive showing by the Sabers.

The win keeps the Twin Cedars girls perfect at 4-0 on the season, including two wins in the Bluegrass Conference.

The Saber boys tasted victory for the first time this season, walloping Diagonal 77-32 last night.

Hunter Embray paced the Twin Cedars scoring attack with 18 points, but the Sabers also got 15 points off the bench from Dylan Springer, and 13 points from Otis Roby. In all, six Twin Cedars players scored eight points or more.

Springer’s twin brother, Derek, also pulled down a team-best 15 rebounds. With the win, the Twin Cedars boys are now 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the Bluegrass Conference.
