Yesterday morning Windstream Communications experienced widespread high speed Internet outages across its network, including the state of Iowa. According to a Windstream Communications spokesperson, the cause of the outage was a failure of Windstream DNS services. The outages effected the vast majority of Windstream’s 1.35 million customers. Reliable Internet service was unavailable during the morning hours, with the services being partially restored at about 9:30, and continually improving through the noon hour. According to Windstream, Internet services have been restored for the vast majority of customers .
