1980 Knoxville Boys Cross Country Team likly set the “Gold Standard” for all cross country teams at Knoxville to strive for. 1980 team was dominate in nearly every meet they went to, going undefeated at 93-0 including winning the state title by 3 points. Greg Stultz was the head coach of the team, and he spoke to KNIA/KRLS Sports and talked about the team and how good they were. This team was so deep, they lost 3 of 4 runners in 1980, and came back to finish runner-up at state in 1981.
