A pair of tense Little Hawkeye Conference games earlier in the week may have taken its toll on the Pella Christian boys basketball teams, as the Eagles were dealt a 63-55 loss at Des Moines Christian Saturday.

Up by five at halftime, the Lions kept the Eagles at bay in the second half; building an 11-point lead entering the fourth quarter and holding on for the 8-point win.  Pella Christian had three players score ten points or more in the game, led by 14 points from Jordan Van Maanen.

Two losses this week drops the Eagles to 8-5 overall, with another tough contest against conference front-runner Grinnell up next.
