First Place in IIAC on Line for Central Men; Dutch Women Gunning for First League Victory in Dubuque

Central College’s basketball teams are gearing up for another road trip, as they’ll head to the University of Dubuque todayto face the Spartans in Iowa Conference play.

The Central women are 5-9 overall, but winless in five conference games following Wednesday’s home loss to Loras. The Dubuque women entered the week winless in league play, but knocked off Wartburg on Wednesday night.

The men’s game will draw the attention of the entire Iowa Conference, as the Central men carry an 11-game win streak into a huge game against the Spartans. First place in the league race is on the line, as both teams are 5-0 against conference opponents.

Tip-off from the University of Dubuque is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. this afternoon, with Eric Gotschall providing live play-by-play of both the women’s and men’s games on 92.1 fm KRLS.
