2011 Knoxville Raceway 410 Rookie of the Year Kevin Swindell added to his list of growing accomplishments in his young career by becoming the first driver to win three consecutive Chili Bowl Midget Nationals on Saturday. The final night of the event was run with a heavy heart due to the tragic death of driver Donnie Ray Crawford in an apparent shooting Saturday morning. The Chili Bowl A-Main Saturday night was extended to 55 laps in Crawford’s honor. Swindell meanwhile led flag-to-flag in beating his father Sammy to the line. That win gave the Swindell family four straight Chili Bowl titles, the last three by Kevin and father Sammy back in 2009.
